Tanglewood FX3 Flex 3 Metre Rubber Guitar Cable, Straight Jacks, Black

A plain, tough 3 metre lead for everyday playing

The Tanglewood FX3 is a straight-to-straight guitar cable in black rubber, 3 metres long. It is a simple jack lead for players who want something dependable between guitar and amp, with no fuss and no gimmicks. If you need a spare for the gig bag or a first proper instrument cable, this is the one to look at.

Build and handling

The outer jacket is rubber, so the cable stays supple. It uncoils without fighting you and packs away neatly after practice. Black rubber also hides scuffs from being dragged across stage floors and carpets.

Both ends are straight jacks. That is the classic arrangement and it suits most guitars with a top-mounted or face-mounted input socket. It also plugs cleanly into the front or side of an amp, or into a pedal.

Why 3 metres works

Three metres gives you room to step back from your amp and move about a little without a lot of slack lying around. At home it reaches across a bedroom or small studio. On a small stage it keeps you connected without turning into a trip hazard. If you play a bigger room and want more reach, there is a longer version in the same range.

Quick facts

• Material: rubber, in black
• Length: 3 metres
• Connection: straight to straight
• Part of the Tanglewood Flex cables series

You can use it as a guitar lead, a bass lead or an instrument cable for keyboards and pedals, anywhere a standard jack fits. If your guitar has a side-mounted socket and you prefer an angled plug, compare the FX3A, which is one straight and one angled jack. For a braided finish, look at the FX3WB. If you need extra length, the FX6A gives you 6 metres. For a no-nonsense rubber cable at a low price, the FX3 does the job.
