Guitar Gig Bags

Choosing a Guitar Gig Bag

A good gig bag is the simplest way to protect your guitar on the way to a lesson, a rehearsal or a night out. This page brings together the Tanglewood guitar gig bag range, with ten bags in two ranges and every one priced between £30 and £35. If you are new to buying one, the main job is matching the bag to the instrument inside it.

Two Ranges to Pick From

The Tanglewood gig bag line is split into two ranges. The Tanglewood Adventurer gig bags are the lower priced choice. The Tanglewood OGBD10 is the example here, at £30, and it suits a dreadnought acoustic. The Tanglewood Envoy gig bags sit at the upper end of the range. The Tanglewood OGBEB BASS costs £35 and is made for an electric bass guitar, so it is the one to look at if you need a bass guitar gig bag.

Matching the Bag to Your Guitar

Bag shapes follow guitar shapes. An electric bass is longer and needs a different bag from an electric guitar gig bag, and an acoustic body is deeper than a solid body electric. Check the type of guitar a bag is listed for before you buy. If you own a Tanglewood already, the model name on the product page will tell you which shape you have.

• For a full size acoustic, browse our dreadnought guitars and look for a bag named for that body.
• For a bass, see the acoustic bass guitars and choose the bass bag.
• For an electric, see the electric guitars before you pick.

Why Use a Gig Bag

A gig bag is lighter than a hard case and easier to carry on public transport, in the car or across a car park. It keeps dust and knocks off the finish and gives you a way to carry the guitar on your back. If you also carry a lead and a tuner, take a look at our guitar cables and tuners and capos so everything travels together.

With only a few pounds between the two ranges, the decision is mostly about which instrument you are carrying. Browse the full range of guitar accessories if you want to build up a complete kit, and remember that every order comes with free UK delivery.
