Tanglewood OGBEC Classical Envoy Series Padded Classical Guitar Gig Bag

A tailored bag for nylon-string players

Classical guitars have a wide neck and a shape of their own, so a generic bag is rarely a good fit. The Tanglewood OGBEC Classical is a guitar gig bag in the Envoy series, made for nylon-string players who want a snug fit and a decent layer of padding.

What protects the guitar

Inside there is 15mm of foam. It cushions the guitar during transport and storage, which matters for a classical guitar with its thin top. The outer layer is rain-resistant denier, built to cope with the weather and the wear of regular carrying.

Carrying it

A padded side handle makes short walks simple. For longer trips, adjustable backpack straps let you wear the bag, which is useful if you are walking to a music school or catching a bus. The straps are padded, so they stay comfortable over a longer trip.

• Shaped for classical guitars
• 15mm foam padding
• Rain-resistant denier exterior
• Padded side handle
• Adjustable backpack straps

Look and who it suits

The black exterior with orange accents gives the OGBEC a modern look without being loud. Students will find it handy for lessons and exams, teachers can use it day to day, and performers get a light alternative to a hard case.

Classical players tend to practise daily and carry the guitar often. A bag that is comfortable to wear matters more than you would expect after a week of lessons. The padded straps and side handle give you a choice, and the foam keeps the guitar steady.

It also suits a guitar kept in a spare room. Slip the guitar inside after practice and it is protected from dust and the odd stray knock.

Be sure the bag matches your guitar before you buy. If you play a steel-string folk or orchestra model, the OGBEF is cut for those bodies instead. The OGBEC is the one in the range designed around the classical shape.
