Tanglewood Enredo Madera Dominar Classical Guitars

Dominar is the top of the Enredo Madera range: solid cedar and solid spruce tops, a parlour model and electro-classical guitars from £299 to £499.

Dominar electric classical guitar range

The Enredo Madera Dominar series is the most advanced classical collection from Tanglewood in our shop. There are nine guitars, priced from £299 to £499, and most of them are electro-classical models. If you want an electric classical guitar that you can plug in for gigs or recording, this is the series to look at.

Solid tops and electronics

The EMD3 and EMD4 are acoustic classical guitars with solid cedar tops at £349. The EMD3 is full size and the EMD4 is a compact parlour classical. Further up, the EMDC6 has a solid spruce top at £499, and the EMDC5 has a solid cedar top at £399.

The EMDC1, EMDC2 and EMDC7 are thinline full size electro-classical guitars, with spruce, spruce and cedar tops at £299, £329 and £299. The EMDC8BK has a flame mahogany veneer top and a black finish at £399. A thinline body is shallower, which makes it comfortable to hold and less prone to feedback on stage.

Choosing between models

  • Cedar or spruce: cedar tends to sound warmer and spruce a little brighter.
  • Plugged in or not: choose an EMDC model if you want electronics, or an EMD model for a purely acoustic guitar.
  • Size: the parlour EMD4 is smaller than the full size models.

Where it fits

If you are newer to the instrument, the Comienzo series starts at £89, and Elegante sits in the middle. Browse every classical guitar in one place, or compare with an electro-acoustic guitar if you prefer steel strings.

You will want a cable for the electro models, and the acoustic guitar amplifiers page has amps to match. Look at the EMDC6 if you want the finest tonewood here. Free UK delivery on all orders.

Who Dominar suits

Dominar is for players who already know they enjoy classical guitar and want better woods and the option of electronics. Prices climb from £299 to £499, and the difference is in the tops and the build, so it helps to decide first if you need a pickup. Students moving up from a beginner guitar, gigging players who want a nylon string sound through an amp, and anyone who prefers a solid top will find a model here. Compare the full size and thinline shapes by looking at the notes on each product page before you decide, and check the price against your budget.
