Tanglewood EMDC2 Enredo Madera Dominar Thinline Electro Classical Guitar

Gloss finish and Premium Plus electronics on a slim classical

Gloss finish and Premium Plus electronics set the Tanglewood EMDC2 apart in the Dominar series. It is a thinline classical guitar, and it is a full size nylon string guitar aimed at players who will use it both at home and on stage. Anyone shopping for an electro acoustic classical guitar on a modest budget should have it on the list.

What it is made from

You get a spruce top over mahogany back and sides. Spruce brings a bright, articulate attack. Mahogany adds a warmer low end and some sustain. Together they suit classical repertoire, flamenco style playing and modern fingerstyle arrangements.

Thinline comfort

The body is a shallower thinline design, so the guitar sits closer to you and feels lighter to handle. That helps when practice runs long. The fingerboard is walnut stained, and the natural gloss finish gives the wood a polished look.

Premium Plus electronics

The onboard Tanglewood Premium Plus system is there to keep the guitar sounding like itself through an amplifier or PA. Controls on the guitar let you adjust the tone between rehearsal room and stage without reaching for the amp.

Where it fits

Nylon strings are gentler on the fingertips than steel, which makes this a friendly guitar for anyone building up calluses. The thinline body also suits players who stand to perform. Because it is amplified, you can use it for church services, small gigs, recording at home or accompanying a singer.

If you like the idea but want a satin feel and a lower price, look at the EMDC1. If you want a cutaway and a cedar top, the EMDC5 is the next step up in the series. The EMDC2 sits between them as a straightforward, good value plug-in classical.
