Tanglewood EMC2 Enredo Madera Comienzo 3/4 Classical Guitar, Natural Gloss

A glossy 3/4 size step up for growing players

The Tanglewood EMC2 is a 3/4 classical guitar from the Enredo Madera Comienzo range. Its size lands between the small junior guitars and a full scale instrument. Younger teens, children who have outgrown a starter and adults with a smaller frame will all find it comfortable to hold.

Sound

The top is spruce, which gives a clear, lively response that rewards good technique as you improve. The back and sides are linden, adding a warm, rounded base to that brightness. The result is a balanced voice that works for gentle practice pieces and for more confident strumming.

Gloss finish

This model comes in Natural Gloss. The shiny coat shows off the grain and gives the guitar a polished look. It also helps protect the wood, which is handy if the guitar travels to and from lessons. If you would rather have a softer, more matt surface, the EMC34 is the satin version.

Size and playing

A 3/4 body means a shorter reach and a more comfortable posture over long practice sessions. The fingerboard is Techwood. Because this guitar is not too small, it should serve for a good while before a move to full size is needed.

Nylon strings are gentle on the fingertips, which helps newer players build up their playing time without soreness. Add a footstool or a strap if you need to adjust the position, and a 3/4 body will sit neatly on your leg.

The EMC2 costs £109. The EMC34 is £89 in Natural Satin if you want to save a little. For a child who is still very small, look at the half size EMC1, and for older learners the full size EMC3.
