A Guitar Gig Bag for Everyday Carrying
A good guitar gig bag keeps dust, scuffs and light knocks away from your instrument, and it lets you carry it on your back with both hands free. The Tanglewood Adventurer series is our everyday option, with two bags priced at £30.
The Adventurer OGBD10
The Tanglewood OGBD10 is the bag shown in this series, at £30. It is a soft bag rather than a hard case, which makes it light and easy to store. That suits trips to lessons, band practice, school and short trips by car or train. If you mostly play at home and only move your instrument now and then, a soft bag like this is a sensible, low cost choice.
Which instrument will it fit?
Check the shape of your guitar before you buy. Acoustics, electrics and basses all have different body sizes, and a bag that is too tight or too loose will not protect as well. Many searches for an electric guitar gig bag or a bass guitar gig bag end up with the wrong size, so measure the length and the widest part of the body first. Our product page lists the details for the bag.
- Measure your guitar's total length.
- Measure the widest point of the lower bout.
- Compare both with the bag before ordering.
Other ways to protect your guitar
For heavier duty carrying, look at the Tanglewood Envoy gig bags, and browse the full Guitar Gig Bags category. A bag is only one part of looking after an instrument, so our Guitar Care section and Guitar Accessories page cover polish, cloths and more.
Looking after a soft bag
A soft bag offers light protection, so treat it that way. Do not stack heavy items on top of your guitar, and keep the bag away from damp car boots and radiators. Loosen the strings slightly if the instrument will sit unused for a long time. Wipe the bag clean now and then, and check the zip and straps for wear so they never let you down on the way to a gig or a lesson.
If you do not have a guitar yet, start with Acoustic Guitars or Electric Guitars, then come back for the bag. Every order has free UK delivery.
