Guitar Accessories for Every Player

The right guitar accessories keep your instrument sounding good, protected and ready to play. This page lists 46 Tanglewood products, with prices from £7 for care products up to £599 for an amplifier. Many are suited to both acoustic and electric players, and some are aimed squarely at electric guitar accessories such as cables.

Strings and care

New strings are the cheapest way to freshen a guitar. The Tanglewood TWGS C set costs £9, and our guitar strings page has more. For upkeep, the TLSL1 lemon oil at £7 is a low-cost fingerboard treatment, and the wider guitar care range covers the basics.

Cables and connections

A reliable lead matters if you play an electro-acoustic or an electric. The FX3 from the Flex cables range costs £12, and the FX3BRY from the Flex Ultra range costs £18. See all of them under guitar cables. The Flex accessories range also includes the TCT1 at £19.

Protection and carrying

A gig bag stops knocks and scratches on the way to a lesson or rehearsal. The Adventurer OGBD10 costs £30, and the Envoy OGBEB bass bag costs £35. Browse the full gig bags range for other sizes.

Amplification

At the top of the range, the Tanglewood T6 amplifier is £599. If you are choosing between models, our acoustic guitar amplifiers page lists them together.

What to buy first

  • Spare strings, because a string can break at any time.
  • A gig bag, if you travel with your instrument.
  • A tuner or capo, which you can find under tuners and capos.
  • A cable, if your guitar has a pickup.

Looking after your guitar

Good habits protect your investment. Keep the guitar in a gig bag when you are not playing, wipe the strings after each session, and oil the fingerboard now and then. These small jobs cost very little and help the instrument stay in tune and look its best for years of regular playing.

Budget bands

Most accessories here cost under £40, which makes it easy to build a kit gradually. Care products and strings sit under £10. Cables run from £12 to £19. Gig bags run from £30 to £35. Only the amplifier, at £599, is a bigger purchase. If you are still choosing an instrument to go with your new kit, look at our acoustic guitars or the guitars under £300 page, and then come back for the extras that match.
