Tanglewood OGBET Travel Guitar Gig Bag, Padded Envoy Series

Backpack straps and padding for a small-bodied guitar

Smaller guitars deserve a bag that fits them, and the Tanglewood OGBET travel gig bag does exactly that. It is made for travel-sized acoustics, so the guitar sits properly instead of sliding about in a full-size case. As a guitar gig bag it is light, padded and ready for trains, planes and car boots.

Backpack comfort

The big difference here is how you carry it. Adjustable backpack straps spread the weight across both shoulders, which helps on long walks or a packed commute. A padded side handle is there when you only need to carry it a short way.

Weather and bumps

The outer fabric is rain-resistant denier, so a wet platform will not put you off. Inside, 15mm of foam padding cushions the guitar against knocks. The bag stays light, which matters when you are also carrying a rucksack or a suitcase.

• Fits travel-sized acoustic guitars
• Rain-resistant outer fabric
• 15mm foam padding all round
• Padded side handle plus backpack straps

Styling

It has a modern black finish with bold orange detailing, the same look as the rest of the Envoy range. It is smart enough for a gig and plain enough for the daily commute.

Who should buy it

If you own a travel guitar and use it on holiday, at lessons or around the house, this is the bag to match. It also works as neat storage at home. Players with a full-size guitar should look at the OGBED for dreadnoughts or the OGBEF for folk and orchestra shapes. Both cost about the same.

Packing it well

Slide the guitar in, close the bag and put the straps on. There is no fuss, and the compact shape means it fits in overhead spaces, under a desk or behind a car seat more easily than a bulky case. That makes it handy if you move between home, work and lessons, or if you like to keep a guitar close at hand. The padding gives you a good level of cover for everyday use, and the fabric wipes clean after a wet day.
