Tanglewood Northstar Littlestar guitars
Littlestar is the smaller branch of the Tanglewood Northstar family. These solid body electric guitars are priced from £139 to £199, and they are aimed at players who want something easy to handle. There are four in the range, and two of them are shown below.
Two shapes to choose from
The Tanglewood NL1BK Electric Guitar has a double cutaway body and costs £139. It is the simplest way into the series, and a sensible pick for a first electric.
The Tanglewood NL6JP Electric Guitar has an offset body and costs £199. Offset shapes have a vintage feel and sit comfortably when you play seated.
Why pick a smaller guitar?
A compact solid body electric guitar is easier to manage if you have smaller hands, or if you are buying for a younger player. Even adults sometimes prefer a lighter instrument for long practice sessions. A solid body also gives a clean, tight sound that suits rock, pop and indie.
What to buy alongside
- An amp and a lead, see our guitar cables.
- A tuner or capo from tuners and capos.
- A gig bag to protect it on the move.
- A spare set of guitar strings.
Is Littlestar right for you?
Choose this range when comfort comes first. Smaller hands, shorter reach and younger players all benefit from a compact guitar, and starting on the right size makes practice more fun. Both models are solid body, so they handle volume well and stay quiet and stable when played through an amp.
The price gap between the two is small, so decide by shape. A double cutaway gives you a modern feel, while the offset has a retro look. Either way, you are getting a proper electric guitar to grow with.
If you are unsure, the team at Armstrong is happy to help you pick the right one before you order.
If you would like a full size neck and body, the main Tanglewood Northstar series has 17 models between £139 and £249. You can also browse every solid body electric guitar we sell, or check the guitars under £300 page for more budget friendly ideas. All orders come with free UK delivery.
