Tanglewood FX3SGA Flex Ultra 3m Jack Lead, Storm Grey, Angled Jack

Storm Grey braid with a right-angle plug

The Tanglewood FX3SGA takes the grey Flex Ultra braid and adds an angled jack at one end. It is a 3 metre jack lead for players whose guitars have side-mounted or recessed sockets, or anyone who likes the cable to leave the guitar flat against the body.

What the angled end does

A straight plug can stick out from the guitar and take a knock when you move. The angled plug turns the cable away from the body straight after the socket. That puts less strain on the jack and on the cable itself. The other end is straight, so it fits amps, pedalboards and interfaces in the usual way.

Grey poly braid

The Storm Grey braid looks smart without being loud. It stays flexible, it coils neatly and it shrugs off the rubbing that comes with moving gear around. A cable that is easy to handle gets looked after better, which helps it last.

Clean signal

The internal build is aimed at low noise and a clear, even response, so you hear your guitar rather than the lead.

Specification

• Material: poly braid
• Length: 3 metres
• Connection: straight / angled
• Colour: Storm Grey

Setting up

Slot the angled end into the guitar and let the cable fall naturally towards the floor. You will notice that it does not twist the plug sideways when you shift your weight. At three metres you can move around a little without needing to coil spare length under your feet, which suits small stages and bedroom setups alike.

If your guitar has a standard socket, the straight / straight FX3SG costs £2 less and looks the same. If you want a different colour with an angled plug, the FX3OBA comes in Ocean Blue. When you need more room to wander, the 6 metre models in the range have the length. For most players with a side-jack guitar, this is a neat, no-fuss choice.
