Tanglewood EMC3 Enredo Madera Comienzo Full Size 4/4 Classical Guitar

Full size classical guitar for older students and adults

Full size is the point of the EMC3. This 4/4 classical guitar is the largest in the Enredo Madera Comienzo range, and it is meant for older students and adult learners who want a standard scale instrument with more volume and a wider fingerboard.

Full scale feel

At full size the EMC3 has the proportions of a traditional classical guitar. The wider fingerboard gives your fingers more room, which is helpful as pieces get more demanding. It also means the guitar will not need replacing when your technique improves. The fingerboard is Techwood.

Tonewoods

A spruce top gives a bright, clear sound with good projection. The linden back and sides add a warm low end, so the guitar sounds rounded rather than thin. You can play quiet classical pieces or stronger fingerstyle parts and the tone stays even.

Gloss finish

The Natural Gloss finish gives a deep shine that shows off the grain. It also protects the wood through regular practice and lessons.

Gloss tends to look best when it is wiped down with a soft cloth after playing. A little care keeps the shine for years, and the guitar will look at home at a recital or on a living room stand.

The greater body size gives a fuller sound than the smaller models, with more volume in the lower notes. That makes it suited to solo playing, group lessons and accompanying a singer.

How it compares

At £119 the EMC3 is the top of the Comienzo family. If you are buying for a younger player, the smaller models may fit better. The EMC1 is half size, and the EMC2 and EMC34 are 3/4 size. If you are an adult or a teenager with full size hands, the EMC3 is the one to choose.
