Tanglewood EMDC8BK Dominar Thinline Electro Classical Guitar, Black Gloss

A black gloss thinline classical that plugs straight in

The Tanglewood EMDC8BK leads the Dominar line with its Through Black Gloss finish. It is a full size thinline electro classical guitar with nylon strings and onboard electronics, aimed at players who want a classical neck and feel but need to play through an amp or PA.

Black gloss and flame mahogany

The finish runs through the body in black gloss, with a flame mahogany veneer on the top. The result is a polished, dramatic look that stands out on stage. The fingerboard is walnut stained.

Thinline body, classical sound

A thinline body is shallower than a traditional classical guitar, so it is more comfortable to hold and less prone to feedback when amplified. The back and sides are mahogany, which gives a warm, even sound with a clear midrange. It is a good match for nylon string guitar styles from classical pieces to Spanish guitar and fingerstyle.

B-Band electronics

The B-Band MTC EQ system lets you shape the sound from the guitar. Use it for gigs, recording, or quiet practice through a small amp.

Nylon strings are gentler on the fingertips than steel and give a soft, rounded attack. Together with the wide classical neck, that makes the guitar easy to play for long sessions, and the electronics mean you are not tied to the living room. It suits players who want one instrument for practice and performance.

If you prefer a warmer colour, the EMDC8CG is the same guitar in Through Cognac Gloss, also £399. If you never plug in and want a solid top instead, look at the EMD3 in the same range. For a stage-ready electro classical guitar in black, the EMDC8BK is the one to choose.
