Tanglewood EMC1 Enredo Madera Comienzo 1/2 Size Classical Guitar for Children

A half size classical guitar for first lessons

The Tanglewood EMC1 is the smallest guitar in the Enredo Madera Comienzo range. It is a 1/2 size classical guitar made for young children who are just starting out. The neck is short enough for little hands to reach the notes without strain.

Made for small hands

A compact body and short neck mean less stretching and lighter string tension. That lets a child concentrate on holding the guitar correctly and learning their first chords. It can make early practice feel far less frustrating than an instrument that is too large.

Nylon strings are also kinder to young fingertips than steel. Short, regular practice sessions are easier to keep up when the guitar is comfortable, and that is the best way to build a habit that lasts.

Tone and finish

The top is spruce, which responds to a light touch, so a beginner hears results quickly. The back and sides are linden, which adds warmth. The Natural Gloss finish gives the guitar a polished look, and the coat adds protection against everyday bumps and drops. The fingerboard is Techwood.

Choosing a size

Size matters more than most buyers expect. A guitar that is too big makes learning harder, and one that is too small is outgrown fast. The EMC1 is aimed at the youngest players. As they grow, the 3/4 size EMC2 and EMC34 are the next steps, and the full size EMC3 follows after that.

At £99 the EMC1 gives a child a proper nylon string guitar to learn on, with the same tonewoods as the larger models in the series.
