Tanglewood TWT10 Tiare Spalt Maple Concert Ukulele, Natural Satin

Spalt maple that makes every ukulele different

The Tanglewood TWT10 is a concert ukulele for the player who wants an instrument nobody else owns. The top, back and sides are all spalt maple, and the dark spalting runs differently through every one. If you are after a concert ukulele with real character, start here.

Looks you will not see twice

Spalting is a natural marking in the maple. It shows up as bold lines and patches across the body, and the satin finish lets the grain stay visible without a heavy gloss. The rosette around the soundhole is maple and mahogany, a quiet detail that lets the wood do the talking. Chrome die-cast tuners finish the headstock.

Sound

Maple is a bright wood, so the TWT10 sounds clear and quick, with good note definition when you strum a full chord. The concert body gives a little more depth and volume than a soprano. The back is arched, which adds to the projection. It suits steady rhythm strumming and picked melodies equally well.

Neck and feel

The slim mahogany neck is easy on the hand. The fingerboard is Eboncore, a smooth and even surface for chord changes. Players of all levels can pick it up and feel at home quickly.
