Tanglewood TC4CE Crossroads Super Folk Cutaway Electro Acoustic Guitar

Super folk tone with room to roam up the neck

Reach the top frets without a fight on the Tanglewood TC4CE, a super folk cutaway from the Crossroads series with mahogany throughout and a TEQ MX pickup system. It is a cutaway electro acoustic guitar for players who move between strummed rhythm parts and melodic lead lines, priced at £199.

Why the cutaway matters

The scooped lower bout on the treble side opens up the upper end of the Eboncore fingerboard. If you play solos, capo high or like chord voicings past the 12th fret, you will notice the difference straight away. On a non-cutaway body your hand meets the shoulder long before that point.

Super folk size and an all-mahogany voice

The super folk shape sits between a small folk body and a full dreadnought. You get decent volume and punch, yet the waist is narrow enough to rest comfortably on your leg. Pairing that size with a mahogany top, back and sides gives a warm tone with a strong middle and gentle highs. Bass notes are present but they do not swamp the rest, which helps when you sing over it.

• Cutaway for clean access to the higher frets
• TEQ MX EQ ready for amps, PA systems and interfaces
• Whiskey Burst Satin finish with the grain on show
• Eboncore fingerboard

Ready for the stage

With the TEQ MX EQ on board you can plug into a venue PA, a practice amp or a recording interface and shape the amplified sound from the guitar itself. That makes the TC4CE an easy choice for open mic nights, worship bands and home demos alike.

The Whiskey Burst Satin finish gives the Crossroads range its lived-in, vintage feel, and on this model the burst frames the cutaway nicely. If you never play above the 10th fret, the TC3E orchestra model costs the same and skips the cutaway. If you want lead access and a pickup in one affordable guitar, the TC4CE is the one to pick, with free UK delivery.
