Tanglewood TWBBO Blackbird Orchestra/Folk Black Acoustic Guitar

A simple black acoustic that lets the mahogany speak

The Tanglewood TWBBO is a black acoustic guitar with no electronics and nothing to get in the way of the sound. It is part of the Blackbird series, with an Orchestra/Folk body and a Smokestack Black Satin finish. It is a good first step up for players who want something that looks good and plays easily.

Orchestra/Folk body

This shape sits between a small parlour and a large dreadnought. It balances comfort with volume, so you can fingerpick, strum chords or accompany a song without fighting the guitar.

Mahogany tone

Top, back and sides are mahogany. That brings a warm, woody voice with a clear midrange. With no pickup, you hear the wood directly, which is ideal for practice and songwriting. The fingerboard is engineered wood.

Finish

Smokestack Black Satin gives a matte black look that hides fingerprints better than gloss would. It feels smooth and the grain still shows faintly.

Who it suits

The TWBBO is a good match for a new player buying a first proper guitar, for someone who wants a spare to keep by the sofa, or for a songwriter who wants a no fuss instrument. With no electronics, there is no battery to check and no jack to worry about. It is light and easy to carry, and the black look suits players who prefer something a bit different from natural wood. Fit fresh strings now and then and it should serve you well for years of practice.
