Tanglewood TWBBSFCE12 Blackbird 12 String Super Folk Cutaway Electro Acoustic Guitar

Twelve strings, a cutaway and a pickup in one black guitar

Most people who want the shimmer of a 12 string electro acoustic guitar also want something easy to hold and easy to gig. The Tanglewood TWBBSFCE12 does that with a super folk body, a cutaway and onboard electronics, all in Smokestack Black Satin.

Why a 12 string

Each pair of strings adds a chiming, doubled quality to chords. It is a classic sound for strummed folk and pop, and it fills a room without needing a band behind it. A 12 string guitar makes simple chord shapes sound big.

Body and neck access

The super folk shape is a little smaller than a dreadnought, which helps with comfort when you sit with it for a long time. The cutaway cuts away the upper bout so your hand can travel further up the neck for lead lines. Fingerboard material is engineered wood.

Mahogany tone

The top, back and sides are all mahogany. Expect a warm, slightly dark voice with solid midrange. Together with the paired strings it produces a full, rounded sound rather than a sharp one.

Plugging in

The Tanglewood Premium Plus electronics let you send the sound to an amp or PA and adjust it on the guitar. This is a cutaway electro acoustic guitar made for open mic nights and small stages as well as the sofa.
