Tanglewood TR4CE Roadster Super Folk Cutaway Electro Acoustic Guitar

A comfortable super folk body with a cutaway and a pickup

Not everyone wants a full dreadnought. The Tanglewood TR4CE uses the smaller super folk shape, so it sits easily on your lap, and it still has a cutaway and electronics. As a cutaway electro acoustic guitar it is a practical choice for songwriters and gigging players.

Size and comfort

The super folk body is more compact than a dreadnought but still produces a decent amount of volume. Long sessions are less tiring, and the shape is friendly for smaller frames. The Venetian style cutaway helps your fretting hand reach the upper end of the Eboncore fingerboard.

Tone

A spruce top is paired with mahogany back and sides. That means clear, bright notes with enough warmth underneath to keep chords from sounding sharp. It works for accompanying a singer, for fingerstyle and for plain strumming.

The balance is the main appeal here. The body is quick to respond, so light touches come through, and the guitar still has enough reserve to be heard in a group of people. It is the sort of instrument you reach for without thinking, which is exactly what makes a guitar get played often.

On stage and at home

TEQ-MX electronics are fitted, giving you controls on the guitar to shape the sound through an amp, PA or interface. It is a handy mix for someone who plays at home most nights and out once a week. A super folk guitar like this suits both.

• Super folk body with cutaway
• Spruce top, mahogany back and sides
• Eboncore fingerboard
• TEQ-MX electronics, Natural Satin finish

Right or left handed

Left-handed players can choose the TR4CELH, which is the same specification. If you want a bigger voice and do not mind the extra size, the TR5CE in the Tanglewood Roadster range is the dreadnought equivalent at the same £299. We offer free UK delivery.
