Tanglewood TWCRDE Crossroads Dreadnought Electro-Acoustic Guitar, Whiskey Burst Satin

A strummer's dreadnought that is ready for the PA

Strummers who need to be heard will get on with the Tanglewood TWCRDE. It is a classic square-shouldered dreadnought electro acoustic guitar from the Crossroads line, with mahogany throughout and a pickup system waiting for an amp.

Built for rhythm playing

The big body moves plenty of air. That means strong volume and a deep low end, the qualities that make this shape a favourite for bashing out chords, flatpicking and backing a singer. Without a cutaway, the outline stays full and traditional, which many players prefer for the look alone.

How it sounds

With mahogany for the top and the body, the TWCRDE leans towards a punchy, focused tone. There is warmth in the low mids, yet each note in a chord still comes through clearly, so busy strumming does not turn to mud. It works on its own in a room and keeps its place next to other instruments in a band.

Ready for the stage

Tanglewood's TEQ MX electronics are fitted, giving you easy controls for shaping your plugged-in sound at any volume. Plug into an acoustic amp at a small venue or run a lead to the desk on a bigger stage, and the guitar's own character carries through.

• Full dreadnought body for volume and low end
• Eboncore fingerboard
• TEQ MX system for amp or PA
• Whiskey Burst Satin finish with a relaxed, low-shine look

Most of your playing in open position? This is the one to pick. If you like to wander up the neck for lead parts, look at the TWCRDCE, which adds a cutaway at the same £199. Want the same body without electronics? The TWCRD is the acoustic-only dreadnought in the tanglewood crossroads guitar family. Either way, delivery is free in the UK.
