Tanglewood TP4CELH Premier Left-Handed Super Folk Cutaway Electro-Acoustic Guitar

Built for left-handed players, no compromise on woods

The Tanglewood TP4CELH is the left-handed version of the Premier TP4CE. If you play left-handed, it is a left handed electro acoustic guitar with solid woods, a cutaway and proper electronics, rather than a right-handed guitar you have to flip.

The Super Folk body is compact, so it is comfortable to sit with for long practice sessions and easy to carry to rehearsals. The natural satin finish has a soft, low shine and feels smooth under your arm. With a solid spruce top and a solid mahogany back, it is a serious instrument for a player who wants to grow into it rather than outgrow it quickly.

Made for lefties

Left-handed acoustics can be harder to find in this kind of spec. This one is a Super Folk cutaway with a natural satin finish, and the cutaway sits where your fretting hand needs it. You get the same woods and electronics as the right-handed model, so you are not paying extra for less.

Tonewoods

The top is solid Engelmann spruce, which gives a clear, quick sound. The back is solid mahogany and the sides are mahogany, adding warmth and body. The fingerboard is Indian rosewood.

Because the woods are solid, the guitar should open up and sound better as you play it over the years. That makes it a sound long term buy for a left-handed player who is tired of compromising on spec, and it gives you a guitar you can gig with as well as practise on at home.

Electronics

A Fishman Presys preamp is fitted. Volume, bass, treble and phase controls let you adjust the sound for the room or the stage.

• Solid Engelmann spruce top
• Solid mahogany back, mahogany sides
• Fishman Presys electronics
• Natural satin finish

The price is £629, £30 more than the right-handed TP4CE. Other left-handed models are worth a look if you want a bigger body. For a compact, solid wood left-handed guitar that plugs in, this is a strong place to start.
