Tanglewood NSP2BK Northstar Pro Single Cutaway Black Electric Guitar

A black single cutaway with a bite and a warm side

Black gloss, a single cutaway shape and a solid poplar body make the Tanglewood NSP2BK a classic looking electric guitar. It is a straightforward two pickup design for players who want a simple, dependable black electric guitar at a fair price.

Wood and feel

The solid poplar body gives a clear, even tone that works across rock, blues and indie. The neck is torrefied maple with a Roseacer stripe, a heat treated wood chosen for stability. Topping it is a rosewood fingerboard, which has a warm, slightly grippy feel that many players prefer for chords and bends.

The single cutaway shape has a traditional look. You still get comfortable access to the upper frets, and the body feels solid and familiar when you play seated or standing.

Two pickups, plenty of range

There is a single coil pickup and a humbucker. The single coil adds sparkle and definition, great for cleaner rhythm parts. The humbucker brings a fuller, heavier sound when you add gain. With only two pickups the controls are easy to learn, so you can spend your time playing rather than hunting for sounds.

• Solid poplar body in Black Gloss
• Single coil and humbucker pickup pairing
• Chrome die cast machine heads
• Rosewood fingerboard on a torrefied maple neck

Choosing this one

The NSP2BK is a good fit if you like a simple layout and a classic shape, and you do not need three pickups. It is also an easy guitar to live with, as the black gloss goes with any amp or pedalboard.

If you want more colour, look at the NSP1CB in Cadillac Blue. If you would like a hollower, softer voice, the semi acoustic NSP5BKG is worth comparing in the Northstar Pro range.
