Tanglewood TW40 SO VS E Sundance Historic OO Folk Electro-Acoustic Guitar, Vintage Sunburst

Classic sunburst looks on a small, solid-topped folk body

This is the Tanglewood TW40 in Vintage Sunburst Gloss, the shaded finish long linked with classic acoustic guitars. As a sunburst electro acoustic guitar with a compact OO folk body, the TW40SOVSE suits fingerstyle players and singer-songwriters who like a traditional look and need to plug in.

Here is what you get for £799:

• Solid Sitka spruce top
• Mahogany back and sides
• Laurel fingerboard
• Fishman Presys onboard preamp
• Vintage Sunburst gloss finish

Voice and response

Solid Sitka spruce is a favourite top wood because it reacts quickly to your touch and has a wide dynamic range. Play softly and it stays clear, dig in and it gets louder without turning harsh. The mahogany back and sides add a woody warmth to the mids that gives the guitar its vintage flavour, and the balance between the two keeps it projecting well when you play alone or with other musicians.

Comfort of the OO size

The small OO folk body is easy to get your arm around and light on the knee, so it stays comfortable through long practice sessions and seated gigs. That compact feel, together with the Laurel fingerboard, makes it a relaxed guitar for intricate picking patterns as well as steady strumming.

Ready for the stage or studio

Fishman's Presys preamp is fitted on board. It gives you a natural amplified tone and straightforward controls, so you can adjust your sound quickly when you plug into an amp or PA, or when you record.
