Tanglewood TW15HE Heritage Dreadnought Electro Acoustic Guitar, Solid Spruce and Mahogany

Classic dreadnought power in solid spruce and mahogany

Players who love the traditional dreadnought guitar shape, without a cutaway, will feel at home with the Tanglewood TW15HE. It is a Heritage series model made from solid spruce and solid mahogany, with a Fishman pickup for when you need to be heard, and it suits strummers, bluegrass and folk players and singer-songwriters. It costs £1,199.

Why a full dreadnought

A dreadnought has a wide waist and a large lower bout, and that size moves a lot of air. The TW15HE gives you a strong bass, plenty of volume and a punchy response when you dig in with a pick. Leaving out the cutaway keeps the classic outline and the full body area that helps the low end.

The woods and how they sound

Every main tonewood here is solid. The solid spruce top gives clarity and a wide range between soft and loud playing. Solid mahogany back and sides bring a warm, slightly mellow colour, so the guitar sounds rich rather than bright. An ebony fingerboard feels slick under your fingers and adds a little definition to each note.

• No cutaway, for the traditional dreadnought shape and sound
• Solid spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides
• Ebony fingerboard
• Natural Gloss finish that shows off the grain

Amplified with Fishman

Fitted with a Fishman Presys Blend system, the TW15HE is ready to plug into an acoustic amp or PA. The preamp includes EQ, so you can trim boom or add sparkle to suit the room. It is a useful option for open mic nights, worship bands and recording.

Need easier access to the high frets? The TW1000HSRCE is the cutaway option in the Tanglewood Heritage range, at £1,499. If you mostly strum chords and want that classic, open dreadnought voice with solid woods and a quality pickup, the TW15HE is the better value. We deliver it free anywhere in the UK.
