Tanglewood TUN5CE Union Dreadnought Cutaway Solid Top Electro-Acoustic Guitar

Dreadnought volume with a cutaway and pickup

Some players want the size of a dreadnought but still need to reach the top of the neck. The Tanglewood TUN5CE solves that. It is a dreadnought electro acoustic guitar from the Union series with a cutaway and onboard electronics, so it works at home and on a stage.

Solid mahogany sound

The top is solid mahogany with mahogany back and sides. That means a woody, warm voice with a firm midrange and good sustain. Strummed chords have weight, and picked notes keep their definition. Mahogany suits many styles, from folk and country to pop and blues.

Cutaway body

The dreadnought shape gives you bass and volume, and the cutaway makes the upper frets easier to get to. If you enjoy soloing above the twelfth fret on a big-bodied guitar, you will notice the difference compared with a standard dreadnought. The fingerboard is Eboncore.

Electronics and finish

The Tanglewood TEQ MX system lets you connect to an amp, a PA or an interface and adjust your tone as you go. The open pore natural satin finish is thin, lets the grain show and feels smooth in the hand.

It also suits worship bands, folk groups and singer-songwriters who need one guitar to cover strumming, lead lines and amplified sets. The wood is the same all-mahogany recipe as the rest of the Union range, so you get consistent tone and a finish that feels natural and unfussy to play.
