Tanglewood TW4CENA Winterleaf Super Folk Cutaway Electro Acoustic Guitar, Solid Cedar Top

Solid cedar warmth in a comfortable super folk body

A solid cedar top is what makes the Tanglewood TW4CENA different from the other TW4 models in the Winterleaf series. It is a cedar top acoustic guitar with a cutaway and Premium Plus electronics, sized for players who want comfort and a responsive voice for fingerstyle and singing, at £449.

Cedar on top, mahogany behind

Cedar is a softer tonewood than spruce. It reacts to a light touch, so gentle picking and quiet strumming still sound full, and it has a warm, slightly dark colour to its tone. The back and sides are mahogany, which adds weight to the midrange and keeps the low end solid. Together they give a rich, rounded sound that flatters vocals and suits folk, acoustic pop and singer-songwriter material.

Super folk size and the cutaway

The super folk shape sits between a small folk body and a full dreadnought. You get a good amount of volume, but the body is easier to hold, especially when you play seated for long sessions. The cutaway opens up access to the higher frets on the Techwood fingerboard for melodies and solos.

• Solid cedar top that responds to a light touch
• Mahogany back and sides
• Super folk cutaway body
• Natural Gloss finish
• Tanglewood Premium Plus electronics

Natural finish and electronics

The Natural Gloss lets the honey tone of the cedar show plainly, with no tint over it. For amplified playing, the Tanglewood Premium Plus system gives you EQ controls on the guitar, so you can set your tone for an acoustic amp, a PA or a recording interface.

Compared with the all-mahogany TW4CEAVB, the TW4CENA has a more open and responsive feel, while the mahogany model is a little more focused and mellow. Pick the cedar if you fingerpick a lot or play quietly. Left-handed players can choose the TW4CENALH, which has the same spec for £469. Free UK delivery is included.
