Tanglewood TW4CER Winterleaf Super Folk Cutaway Red Electro Acoustic Guitar

Bold red gloss on a cosy, mahogany-toned folk body

If you like a guitar that gets noticed, the TW4CER puts a deep Through Red Gloss on the Tanglewood TW4. It is a red electro acoustic guitar with a solid mahogany top, mahogany back and sides, a super folk cutaway shape and onboard Premium Plus electronics, and it sells for £449.

Playing comfort

This body size is aimed at players who find a dreadnought a bit of a handful. The super folk outline is smaller and less deep, so your strumming arm wraps over it naturally and it balances well on your knee. A cutaway lets you climb past the body join on the Techwood fingerboard without stretching.

• Easy to hold for long practice sessions
• Good for both picking and strumming
• Plug-in ready for open mics and gigs
• Eye-catching red that still shows the grain

What mahogany brings

Mahogany is a darker tonewood than spruce. A solid mahogany top over mahogany back and sides gives you a mellow, chocolatey tone with a thick middle and a smooth treble. Chords blend together nicely, which makes it a strong accompaniment guitar, and fingerstyle pieces sound intimate and rounded. Because the top is solid wood rather than laminate, it responds well to how hard or softly you play.

Red finish, real wood

Through Red Gloss is a see-through colour, so the mahogany grain still shows beneath the red. Tanglewood Premium Plus electronics handle amplified playing, with EQ on the guitar so you can tweak your tone at the venue.

All four right-handed TW4 colours cost the same, so choose the one you love. The TW4CEBS is black, the TW4CEFG green and the TW4CEAVB a vintage brown, and the left-handed TW4CEAVBLH is £469. For a Tanglewood Winterleaf with more colour than most, the red is hard to beat. Free UK delivery comes as standard.
