Tanglewood TW5CENA Winterleaf Dreadnought Cutaway Electro Acoustic Guitar, Natural Gloss

Cedar warmth and dreadnought power in one guitar

Full-sized and loud, the Tanglewood TW5 pairs a big body with a solid cedar top for a sound that is both powerful and sweet. The TW5CENA is a dreadnought electro acoustic guitar with a cutaway, mahogany back and sides and Premium Plus electronics, finished in Natural Gloss at £449.

Cedar and mahogany

Cedar is a soft, responsive tonewood. It reacts to a light touch, so gentle fingerpicking comes through with plenty of detail and warmth. Dig in with a pick and the dreadnought body adds weight and volume. The mahogany back and sides fill in the lows and give a strong, rich midrange, while the treble stays smooth rather than sharp.

That mix makes it a versatile guitar. It can drive a singalong, back a singer in a duo, or carry a slow instrumental on its own.

Built for playing out

The cutaway gives you a way up to the top frets on the Techwood fingerboard, which a standard dreadnought makes awkward. For gigs and recording, Tanglewood Premium Plus electronics include easy controls and a built-in tuner, so you can tune quietly between songs and plug straight into a PA.

• Solid cedar top that responds to a light touch
• Full dreadnought body for volume and bass
• Cutaway for the upper frets
• Premium Plus EQ with a built-in tuner
• Natural Gloss finish

Looks

Natural Gloss keeps things simple. The warm colour of the cedar top shows through, framed by the darker mahogany, and the gloss brings out the grain.

Choose the TW5CENA if you want more volume and bass than the smaller super folk TW4 models give, or a softer, warmer top than spruce. It is one of the stronger dreadnought guitar choices in the Tanglewood Winterleaf line at this price. A left-handed version, the TW5CENALH, costs £469. We deliver free across the UK.
