The vintage finish

Body and sound

The dreadnought is the classic big acoustic shape, known for punchy volume and a solid low end. Here the solid mahogany top is matched with a mahogany back and sides. That pairing softens the edges of the sound and puts the focus on the mids, so chords sound thick and rounded rather than bright and sparkly. Single notes have a clear, woody character, which works for fingerstyle parts and blues licks as well as for strumming.
