Tanglewood TA4CEGY Azure Super Folk Cutaway Electro-Acoustic Guitar, Grey Gloss

Understated grey with a lively, clear voice

The Tanglewood TA4CEGY takes the Azure cutaway electro acoustic guitar and dresses it in grey. It is a quiet, modern look that suits players who like their instruments stylish without a big splash of colour.

Looks

Through grey gloss lets the quilted ash top show its wavy figure, so the guitar has depth rather than a flat paint effect. Grey goes with almost any stage outfit and any strap, which makes it an easy guitar to live with.

Sound

Quilted ash for the top and maple for the back and sides give a bright, defined tone. Notes ring clearly and chords stay tidy, even when you dig in. It is a good match for pop, folk and singer-songwriter styles where the guitar has to sit alongside vocals. For a warmer, rounder sound, compare it with the mahogany models in the Tanglewood range.

Playability and amplification

• Super folk cutaway body for comfort and upper fret reach
• Eboncore fingerboard with a smooth feel
• Tanglewood Premium Plus electronics for plugging in

The body is on the compact side, so it is easy to hold for long practice sessions, and the cutaway gives your fretting hand room at the top of the neck. When you want volume, plug in and the onboard electronics do the work.

Other colours

If grey is not quite right, the same guitar is also made in blue (TA4CEBL), green (TA4CEGR), honey (TA4CEHN), purple (TA4CEPU) and red (TA4CERD), all priced at £299. Left-handed players can choose the TA4CEHNLH at £309. Every order ships with free UK delivery, so the colour is the only thing to decide.

Where it fits

Grey suits players who want a guitar that blends in with a black stage kit or a neutral studio. It also works as a second guitar alongside a darker dreadnought, giving you a brighter option for songs that need sparkle. Add a strap and a lead and you have everything you need to start playing amplified.
