Tanglewood TRU2CEAW Reunion Pro Travel Super Folk Cutaway Electro-Acoustic Guitar

A take-anywhere guitar with a solid top and a pickup

Holidays, festivals, the tour van or a cramped flat: the Tanglewood TRU2CEAW is made for places where a full-size acoustic is a nuisance. This travel electro acoustic guitar shrinks the super folk shape but keeps a solid spruce top, black walnut back and sides and a built-in preamp.

Small but serious

Many travel guitars cut corners on materials. This one doesn't. The top is solid spruce, so it responds properly to your playing, and a figured veneer of black walnut dresses it for a rich, dark look. Black walnut forms the back and sides, adding warmth to balance the spruce. The result is a fuller, more grown-up sound than you might expect from a body this size.

• Travel-size body that is easy to carry and store
• Solid spruce top with a black walnut veneer
• Eboncore fingerboard
• Cutaway for the higher frets
• Natural satin finish

Gig-ready electronics

The Tanglewood Premium Plus EQ system means the TRU2CEAW isn't only a practice instrument. Plug into a PA or an acoustic amp and use the controls to dial in a tone that suits the venue. That makes it a neat choice for small pub gigs and acoustic sessions where you would rather not haul a big case.

Who it suits

It's ideal as a second guitar for travelling players, a comfortable option for younger or smaller players, and a handy sofa guitar for anyone who likes to pick up and play. The cutaway helps on the shorter body too, letting you reach up the neck for lead lines.

In the Tanglewood Reunion Pro range, the TRU2CEAW shares its woods and electronics with the larger TRU4CEAW super folk. Choose the TRU4CEAW if it will mostly live at home and you want more body. If portability comes first, this travel guitar at £349 is the one, with free UK delivery.
