Tanglewood TRU7ABCEAW Reunion Pro Jumbo Cutaway Electro-Acoustic Bass Guitar, Black Walnut

A jumbo-bodied bass for unplugged and amplified sessions

Bass players often miss out at acoustic sessions, and the Tanglewood TRU7ABCEAW is built to fix that. It is an electro acoustic bass guitar with a large jumbo body, a solid spruce top and black walnut back and sides, so you can sit in with guitarists and still be heard.

Big body, deep voice

An acoustic bass needs a lot of air to move low notes, which is why this one uses a jumbo body. The extra size gives the bottom end more depth and helps it carry in a room. A cutaway lets you reach further up the neck when you want to play higher fills or melodic lines.

Spruce and walnut

The solid spruce top keeps each note clear and defined, so your bass lines do not turn to mush. A figured black walnut veneer covers the top, and the back and sides are black walnut too, giving the bass a dark, rich colour and a warm, rounded tone. The Eboncore fingerboard and natural satin finish finish off the look.

• Great for acoustic jams, folk sessions and unplugged sets
• Plug in for bigger rooms, via amp or PA
• Cutaway gives access to the upper register
• Satin finish feels smooth and natural

Electronics

Unplugged, an acoustic bass is ideal for practice and small groups. For anything louder you will want the Tanglewood Premium Plus system, which lets you connect to a bass amp or PA and adjust the tone from the controls on the side of the body. It works well for recording too, sending a clean signal into your interface.

The TRU7ABCEAW is the bass of the Tanglewood Reunion Pro range, and it shares the solid spruce top and Premium Plus electronics with the guitars in the series. If you play electric bass and want an instrument for acoustic gigs, or you are a guitarist moving into bass for unplugged nights, this is a natural fit. We deliver it free in the UK.
