Tanglewood TW4CECBN Winterleaf Carbon Super Folk Cutaway Electro Acoustic Guitar, Metallic Grey

A carbon fibre top for a bright, tough super folk

The Tanglewood TW4CECBN swaps the usual spruce or mahogany top for genuine carbon fibre, which makes it one of the more unusual models in the Tanglewood Winterleaf range. It is a cutaway electro acoustic guitar for players who want a bright, focused sound and a guitar that shrugs off knocks, gigs and travel, for £399.

Why carbon fibre on top

Carbon fibre is stiff and stable, so the top gives a clear, direct tone with a long sustain. Notes ring cleanly when you pick single lines, and chords stay defined rather than blurring together. Behind it, the back and sides are linden, a lighter wood that rounds off the brightness and adds some warmth to the overall voice. The result sounds modern and crisp, and it suits pop, rock covers and fingerstyle arrangements where you want every note heard.

Shape, neck and plugging in

The super folk body is a mid-sized shape. It projects well when you strum, yet it sits comfortably on your lap and does not feel bulky under your arm. The cutaway lets your hand reach the upper frets on the Eboncore fingerboard without stretching. On board EQ means you can plug straight into an amp or PA and adjust the tone from the guitar itself.

• Genuine carbon fibre top with a clear, sustaining tone
• Linden back and sides
• Super folk cutaway body for comfort and upper fret access
• Built in EQ for amplified playing
• Metallic Grey Gloss finish

A guitar that looks different

The Metallic Grey Gloss finish is far from the natural wood look most acoustics wear. The machine heads are gunmetal grey, and a matching strap pin carries the same colour through, so the whole instrument looks sleek and consistent on stage.

If you prefer a traditional wooden voice, the solid mahogany TW4CEBL models in the Winterleaf Blonde series are worth comparing. If you want something bright, durable and eye catching that copes with regular use, the TW4CECBN is the one to pick, and we deliver it free anywhere in the UK.
