Tanglewood NS2SFG Northstar Single Cutaway Electric Guitar, Sea Foam Green

Soft pastel green on a single cutaway body

The Tanglewood NS2SFG is a single cutaway electric guitar in Sea Foam Green, a soft pastel shade that looks fresh and a little retro. It has a solid poplar body, two single coil pickups and a rosewood fingerboard, all for £139.

A gentler green

Not every green guitar is loud. Sea Foam Green is light and calm, and it looks good next to the maple neck and its Roseacer stripe. If you want a green electric guitar that feels vintage rather than flashy, this is the one in the Northstar range to look at.

Playing feel

The single cutaway body is solid poplar. Your hand can reach the high frets without strain. The rosewood fingerboard has a smooth, warm feel, and the chrome die cast machine heads keep everything tidy at the headstock.

• Two single coil pickups

Tone

Two single coils at the neck and bridge give you a clear voice. The neck pickup is warm and round. The bridge pickup is brighter and cuts through. It handles clean rhythm well and still has bite when you push an amp.

Other options

The NS2 body shape also comes as the NS2CB in blue and the NS2VW in white. If you want something with three pickups, try the double cutaway NS1EG, which is also green.

It is a stylish way to start playing electric, or a second guitar that stands out in the room. Delivery in the UK is free.

Pairing it with an amp

Single coils work well with a clean amp and a little reverb, which brings out the vintage character of this colour. Add a chorus or delay pedal later if you want more shimmer. A small practice amp is all you need to begin.
