Tanglewood TRU4CEAE Reunion Pro Super Folk Cutaway Electro-Acoustic Guitar, Ebony

Dark ebony looks on a solid spruce super folk

The Tanglewood TRU4CEAE pairs a solid spruce top with ebony back and sides, all wrapped in a dark, dramatic look you rarely see at this price. It is an electro acoustic guitar for players who want a mid-sized body, a cutaway for the upper frets and a pickup ready for the stage.

Ebony from top to back

Ebony is the headline here. A figured ebony veneer sits over the solid spruce top, so the front of the guitar shows bold, dark grain while the spruce underneath does the work of producing sound. The back and sides are ebony too, which gives the whole instrument a matched, deep-toned appearance. Expect the spruce to bring clarity and a quick response, with the ebony body adding warmth and body to each note.

A body size that fits most players

The super folk shape sits between a big dreadnought and a small parlour. You get enough volume for strumming chords in a room, yet it feels easier to hold than a full jumbo. The cutaway opens up the higher frets for lead lines and chord shapes further up the neck, and the Eboncore fingerboard keeps the dark theme going.

• Solid spruce top with a figured ebony veneer
• Ebony back and sides for a matched look
• Super folk cutaway body, comfortable seated or standing
• Tanglewood Premium Plus electronics for amps and PAs
• Natural satin finish

Plugged in and ready

The Tanglewood Premium Plus system lets you send the guitar straight to an amp, PA or audio interface and adjust your sound from the controls on the side. That makes it a practical choice for open mic nights, church groups and home recording, without needing to mic it up.

Part of the Tanglewood Reunion Pro range, the TRU4CEAE shares its shape and electronics with the koa TRU4CEAK and the santos TRU4CEAS, so the choice comes down to which wood you want to look at every day. If you like a dark, striking guitar that still sounds open and lively, the ebony version is the one to pick. We deliver it free anywhere in the UK.
