Tanglewood TW4CEBLB Winterleaf Blonde Super Folk Cutaway Electro Acoustic Guitar, Barossa Red

Barossa Red gloss with a mellow mahogany sound

If you want a red electro acoustic guitar that sounds as good as it looks, the Tanglewood TW4CEBLB is worth a close look. Its Barossa Red Gloss finish covers a solid mahogany top, and the cutaway super folk body is easy to live with for songwriters, open mic regulars and anyone who plays a lot at home. The price is £479.

A deep wine red finish

Barossa Red is a dark, wine coloured shade rather than a bright pillar box red. In gloss it looks warm and rich, and it gives the Tanglewood TW4 a classy but eye catching look that suits a stage or a living room equally well.

Body shape and neck

The super folk is a mid-sized body. It fills a room when you strum, yet it is slimmer and easier to hold than a dreadnought, which helps on long sessions. The cutaway on the treble side lets you reach the top of the Techwood fingerboard for solos and capo work high up the neck.

• Barossa Red Gloss finish
• Solid mahogany top, mahogany back and sides
• Comfortable super folk cutaway body
• Techwood fingerboard
• Tanglewood Premium Plus EQ

Tone and electronics

All the main body woods are mahogany, with a solid top doing most of the work. Mahogany gives a sound that is warm and woody, with plenty of midrange and gentle treble. It is forgiving, so strummed chords sound smooth and fingerstyle parts sound sweet. Plugged in, the Tanglewood Premium Plus system gives you EQ controls on the guitar so you can tune your sound to the room, the amp or the PA.

The TW4CEBLB shares its spec with the TW4CEBLA in Blue Gloss and the TW4CEBLW in Whitsunday White Gloss, so the sound and feel are the same and the colour is your call. For a warm mahogany voice in a striking red, this is the model to choose, with free UK delivery.
